The Marangu route is the most populated route on Kilimanjaro and is nicknamed the “Coca-Cola” route, followed by a lot of all climbers. In fact, almost 50% of climbers take this route. The path is well defined and climber friendly to make your “expedition” to the top a little easier. The route offers accommodation in simply built mountain huts and is the shortest route to the summit. In the huts you can buy bottled water and soft drinks. This is a very scenic route with good views and excellent prospects for viewing wildlife. Since it is the shorter route it makes it more affordable comparable to the other routes.
